Position Summary

The Copy Supervisor is the “keeper of the brand” to which they are assigned. They will be expected to own the brand and will be accountable for the success of the creative.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and master a record of the history of the concepts/creative, market landscape of the brand and client
  • Oversee and apply the consistency and continuity of the brand across a variety of tactics in the concepting, execution, referencing and annotating of sales promotional materials
  • Responsible for partnering and “big picture thinking” as it relates to the client, internal team, Art, and Account Services counterpart
  • Present creative in internal and external meetings
  • Client contact - offer strategic and innovating solutions, add/contribute to client meetings, present creative work and attend med-legal review and market research
  • Provide direct line management of creative brand(s) team including delegation & management of workload (mentorship) – Manage, mentor, and coach junior staff.
  • Provide meaningful contributions in the form of concepts/ideas to new business pitches, pro-bono, and in-house work
  • Seek new opportunities to grow existing brands and the company through new business pitch wins
  • Team Leader, presenter, and point person internally for new business pitches to which they are assigned
  • Read, interpret, and act as an expert in clinical data
  • Liaise with Editorial Team
  • Know various resources and their capabilities within WPP
  • Apply a consistency and continuity of the brand across a variety of tactics in the concepting, execution, referencing and annotating of sales promotional materials
  • Write clear, persuasive, original copy, and translate concepts into effective messages.
  • AMA guidelines and interpersonal skills (ability to communicate with clients and team members)
  • Must understand client goals, strategy, and feedback.

Requirements:

  • Evidence of creative ability/talent (e.g. book of work)
  • Demonstrated writing and concepting ability including the ability to write quickly (i.e. in a fast-paced environment)
  • Effective communication, presentation, delegation, negotiation, time management, leadership and line management and influencing skills preferred
  • Ability to develop competitive communication strategies (e.g. “how to sell against competitors”)
  • Comfort with or an educational focus in science preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat
  • Demonstrated business acumen, passion for the industry, work ethic, ability to be a team player, manage multiple projects, establish an information hierarchy, and work self-directed/independently

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in English preferred. Bachelors Degree in Biology or related field is a plus

Experience:

  • 4-6 years’ experience in Advertising or related field
