Position Summary:

The Vice President, Group Account Supervisor (VP, GAS) serves as the authority and partner to their assigned client accounts for the company’s medical education products or services ensuring that all projects are progressing as needed, identifying additional client needs, and selling in new projects and services to meet those needs. The VP, GAS is expected to have a full understanding and command of Phase Five, GHG and WPP capabilities.


  • Visible relationship manager by client (not just brands) by demonstrating a full understanding and command of all client projects
  • Partner with clients to control account from “soup to nuts” including:
    • Provide strategic insight & recommend projects and changes
    • Author and own strategic, tactical and business plans
    • Onsite account representative at meetings, ad boards, etc.
    • Demonstrate a full understanding of the therapeutic category and the project history with the Agency and in the marketplace, if applicable
    • Management of project lifecycle and meetings from inception to execution
  • Management of budget and profitability including:
    • Responsibility and accountability
    • Partnership with Business Manager
    • Full understanding of billing, fees and profit
  • Sell the company’s medical education products or services including:
    • New client business
    • Organic growth of existing client business
    • Recognize opportunities with clients & gaps in the marketplace and product plan
  • Partner with scientific counterpart in leading team on client business
  • Write proposals as well as create/edit client presentations and lead new business pitches
  • Recruit, supervise, retain, coach and mentor staff
  • Monitor marketplace/industry to have a full command of drug awareness and identity to consumers, physicians, etc.
  • Liaise with outside vendors as needed
  • Travel to meetings as needed (25-35%)
  • Demonstrate expertise and ensure adherence to internal processes, ACCME, OIG, and HCC guidelines


  • Demonstrated expertise (including confidence) and knowledge of the commercialization of the product lifecycle
  • Demonstrated experience in working as part of a fast-paced team in the medical education industry, the ability to think “big picture” and strong former and existing client relationships
  • Proven or demonstrated leadership skills including coaching and mentoring as well as success in building and maintaining productive and profitable teams
  • Established and demonstrated presentation, organization, ownership, time management, communication, attention to detail, and customer focus
  • Strong or expert partnering, negotiation, and problem-solving skills required
  • Intermediate level Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, and Word required



  • Bachelor degree required – Communications, Advertising, Marketing or related field MBA, preferred


  • 8-10 years of medical education experience
  • 4-6 years of line management experience
