Position Summary

A Vice President, Group Account Supervisor (VP, GAS), represents Wunderman Thompson Health as a key partner to the client’s business. A VP, GAS should be viewed by the client as an extension to their own team, a team member who fully understands the client’s business and continually adds value. A VP, GAS manages and contributes to the creative process to yield impactful creative ideas. In addition, a VP, GAS understands Wunderman Thompson Health’s full array of services and products and makes appropriate recommendations to the client. Also, the VP, GAS mentors and grows the team talent, along with managing staff plans, budgets and agency efficiency to increase agency performance.


  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to understand and grow business
  • Proactively and regularly make strategic recommendations to the clients (i.e. positioning, branding, etc.)
  • Develop and implement marketing communications strategy, plans and programs to support day-to-day account activity and long-term business objectives
  • Establish creative direction with the client
  • Partner and help lead internal agency departments, as well as external agency partners
  • Effectively communicate direction to the creative team and provide valuable feedback to ensure client expectations are met -Coach, mentor and supervise team; demonstrate strong leadership, provide direction and professional development
  • Efficiently develop and manage client budget. Understand where spending is at all times and have a plan in place to meet spending goals with best profitability
  • Regularly contributes to the growth of the agency’s business
  • Proactively provide manager (SVP) with regular updates on the state of business, opportunities and/or concerns
  • Regularly surface organic business opportunities generating additional income opportunities within the assigned accounts
  • Partner with senior management on new business pitches from strategy to presentation
  • Manages $2-3M in business

  • Possess a clear understanding of pharmaceutical marketing, client positioning and competitive market forces
  • Demonstrate dedication to establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Effective written and verbal communication, presentation, delegation, negotiation, time management, decision-making and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate confident and positive leadership including the ability to focus on the big picture, build morale and solve problems
  • Ability to develop solid strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrate business acumen, work-ethic, and ability to be a team leader, establish an information hierarchy and work independently


Bachelor’s Degree


Ten to 12 years’ experience in advertising; minimum seven years in pharmaceutical/healthcare
