ROLE SUMMARY

The Digital Media Planner researches, develops and compiles media plans that include media objectives, strategies and rationale on behalf of assigned clients. They develop, present, and optimize plans, as well as create analytics reporting and anlyze the data to inform optimization. The Digital Media Planner negotiates and buys media schedules as well as negotiates value add for the plans.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Researches, develops and compiles media plans that include media objectives, strategies and rationale on behalf of assigned clients.
  • Optimizes current paid social media products and services as well as develops new ones that integrate seamlessly and amplify media campaigns.
  • Presents media plans to account management personnel and clients.
  • Sets up campaign analytics within data platforms, analyzes campaign data and reports back to clients.
  • Works with Media Director on updated campaign benchmarks by vertical and tactic.
  • Audits existing social media programs for clients: Evaluates the strategy and implementation of client’s social media programs, researches the social media presence of clients’ competitors, and provides strategic recommendations for program improvements.
  • Maintains files and records as they relate to the media plan and implements changes in plans as requested by client or Account Executive.
  • Negotiates, buys, and optimizes media schedules.
  • Negotiates sponsorships, integrations, etc. that will provide added value to the client’s campaign.
  • Manages day-to-day maintenance and plan changes to media deals.
  • Maintains materials list to support delivery of ad copy/artwork to the publications/sites within required specifications, and on time.
  • Analyzes and recommends vendor proposals.
  • Acts as liaison between media vendors and agency.
  • Provides POVs to the client and Account Team as requested.
  • Provides market analysis and other reports as requested.
  • Meets with media representatives and analyzes proposals and digital packages.
  • Provides new and profitable ideas to grow clients’ business.
  • Analyze campaign metrics and provide recommendations to clients for optimization.
  • Understands and articulates media trends with the goal of determining how this will ultimately affect the client and their objectives.
  • Maintains digital platform updates and organization.

  • Third Party Ad Serving (preferably Google Campaign Manager aka DoubleClick)
  • Media Buying Software (preferably Strata)
  • Google Analytics
  • Google Ads and/or DV360

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, media studies or communication
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office — PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Approximately 8+ years of related experience
  • Preferred experience in healthcare and B2B advertising with applicable management responsibility and financial accountability
  • Strategic aptitude
  • Detail oriented with strong math aptitude and organizational skills
  • Effective presenter
  • Able to multitask and be a team player in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
