Position Summary:

The Associate Medical Director ensures that scientific materials produced by IMsci are of high quality and supported by current scientific thinking, with the ultimate goal of maintaining and building the scientific reputation of IMsci. The Associate Medical Director is cognizant of the differences between products produced for medical affairs clients versus those produced for promotional clients. The Associate Medical Director regularly interacts with Key Opinion Leaders and other internal and external scientific professionals as well and works closely with IMsci Account Services team to ensure ongoing, positive relationships with our clients.


  • Manage one account & tactical execution including speaker slide decks, advisory boards and symposia
  • Client interaction including running teleconferences and client meetings, answering questions regarding content issues on manuscripts, presentations, attend meetings & demonstrate knowledge of content and tactical execution
  • Identify business opportunities on account
  • Partner with account team on timelines and resource utilization
  • Understand, execute and contribute strategic direction
  • Provide references & direction, answer questions, manuscript overview concept sheet and review/critique drafts
  • Literature search on background of drug and disease state
  • Liaise with client to ensure project timelines are met
  • Fact checking for medical accuracy
  • Write abstracts, manuscript outlines, slides and slide notes
  • Critique drafts, query and identify resources needed to meet deadline/deliverable and within budget
  • Manage freelance writers as needed – assign projects, provide direction
  • Provide guidance, mentoring and coaching to Biomedical Writer(s)
  • Participate in new business pitches


  • Advanced degree in biomedical sciences (MD, PhD, PharmD)
  • 5 years academic, pharmaceutical industry or agency experience
  • Experience in multiple therapeutic areas
