Position Summary:

Provide strategic and tactical support to WG health economic projects to ensure the effective creation and timely delivery of high quality, profitable client programs.


  • Develop and build health economic models including cost-effectiveness, cost-utility and budget impact

  • Primary and secondary research for parameterization of models involving literature searching and participation in expert interviews

  • Conduct systematic and non-systematic literature reviews

  • Prepare health economic reports and user-guides for stakeholders (Payors, Pharmaceutical Industry, Government bodies or Academic Institutions)

  • Work with other team members on HTA submissions

  • Statistical analysis of outcomes data including meta-analysis, mixed treatment comparison and survival analysis

  • Publication and dissemination of research findings in peer-reviewed journals and elsewhere, including in-house dissemination activities

  • Involvement in the preparation of proposals for work • Provide high quality, innovative, timely, scientific/strategic solutions to meet client needs

  • Ensure quality of service and deliverables to clients through an integrated WG team to an agreed standard and to deliver within timelines and budget

  • Develop relationships with WG client base to support delivery of projects and programs

  • Contribute to the development of new highly profitable health economics services that WG can offer to clients, thereby providing clients a more innovative service than competitors

  • Personal and project team adherence to WG best practice and administrative systems e.g. efficient and professional internal and client communication, keeping excellent customer records and updating project management systems

  • Develop and maintain third party relationships with academic institutions, payors and providers of healthcare to maintain and generate intellectual capital

  • Work with the other directors to support the monitoring of environmental issues and new business development

  • Coordinate and liaise with project teams

  • Social media enthusiast with eager to participate as a knowledge expert online

  • Develop own skills further to enhance the scope and range of future offerings

  • Undertake any other duties as may be required from time to time by WG and its clients

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics or Economics

  • Master’s degree in Health Economics, preferred


  • 1-2 years’ experience in Market Access or applicable experience

  • Mathematical/statistical skills

  • Excellent IT skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • Desirable IT skills in statistical software packages R/SAS/SPSS and WinBugs

  • Understanding of modeling approaches (e.g. Markov modeling, Decision trees etc.) and applying to a healthcare context

  • Understanding of health economics

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Knowledge of Pharmaceutical Industry

  • Knowledge of the health and social care systems in the US

  • Knowledge of global health care systems is a plus

  • Ability to think outside the box and solve problems when solutions are not available in textbooks

  • Experience in applied health economics

  • Experience of word processing, databases and spreadsheet modeling

  • Experience of statistical and econometric analysis of data

  • Experience of journal search engines for e.g. Medline, Embase & Cochrane

  • Experience of collaboration in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Experience in dealing with clients as either a provider

  • Experience of building and interpreting decision and other health economic models

  • Experience of writing reports and publications
