Position Summary:

The VP, Engagement Strategist spearheads engagement strategy development for marketing initiatives across all digital/data/technology-driven programs designed to meet specific business objectives for a range of clients. The VP, Engagement Strategist is highly versed in digital and integrated multi-channel marketing plan development. They demonstrate keen understanding of how to build strategies and plans to communicate with key customers and show leadership skills to drive business forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops highly impactful engagement strategies and programs based on insights garnered from research that effectively deliver on brand objectives

  • Serves as primary Engagement strategy lead for client and internal projects at the agency, interacting directly with clients to identify opportunities to expand client relationships

  • Manages mid-level staff on the Engagement Strategy team, supporting in resourcing and allocation management of team

  • Integrates closely with Brand Strategy, Creative, Account/Project Management, and Technology to develop engagement strategies and programs and ensure those programs are executed aligning to the strategy and at a high standard

  • Works well with user experience teams to build insight-driven customer journeys and associated program documentation such as business requirements documents (BRD)

  • Liaises with partner agency or media agency digital leads for successful execution of programs

  • Develops recommendations based on insights gathered from review of web/campaign metrics to enhance ongoing programs or assets and improve performance

  • Participates in annual tactical planning to ensure the latest digital ideas are presented to existing clients and that digital resources are planned appropriately to deliver on ideas

  • Plays a key role in new business opportunities, leading input for Engagement Strategy for RFPs (generating digital & data insights, and digital ideas & tactics) and attending pitches to represent Engagement Strategy on behalf of the agency

  • Drives best practices implementation and uptake for Engagement Strategy process at the agency to further digital excellence across all channels

  • Represents the agency in digital forums, at conferences, and via thought leadership pieces, as required

Requirements:

  • Experience in building best-in-class engagement strategies and planning digital programs at the corporate and brand level

  • Knowledge of online and social media marketing in both B2C and B2B areas; healthcare experience ideal

  • Familiarity with different web platforms, CRM systems, social media sites, SEO/SEM, digital media, and other marketing technologies

  • Understanding of emerging technologies and their application to marketing and communication including (but not limited to) AI/ML, AR/VR, and voice

  • Experience conducting and analyzing digital and web research

  • Strong understanding of web/campaign analytics, including experience in using various analytics tools and programs such as Google Analytics and Omniture

  • Ability to define objectives and work with a team to develop a cohesive strategy that drives campaign and business results

  • Solid proficiency working with research and data-intensive initiatives in collaboration with marketing intelligence and analytics teams

  • Passionate about digital marketing and engagement concepts/methodologies and able to speak with credibility and conviction as to how to apply them to meet client’s business objectives

  • Possesses exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to present thoughts both verbally and visually in presentations, or in written form in email and documentation

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Ability to manage workload and work on multiple assignments at once by multi-tasking and delegation

  • Motivated, self-starter with a desire to grow

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree with a concentration in marketing or related field

Experience:

  • ~7 years’ experience in digital/engagement strategy and marketing

  • ~3 years’ experience leading and supervising digital teams
